Kristin Rogers
Kristin is a qualified Psychotherapist with a BSc Hons Degree in Counselling and Psychotherapy from IICP (institute for Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy). She is a member of the IACP (Irish Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy), following the ethics and supervision guidelines of that body.
Kristin brings a rich personal and professional history to the counselling field, with experience as a certified professional homebirth midwife, and as the full-time parent to a child with intellectual disability. Additionally, she is a sex positive, kink aware, and polyamory & queer affirming therapist. As an American resident of Ireland, she also has personal experience of immigration and learning to live in a new culture.
Kristin’s approach is integrative with a strong humanist basis. This means that she believes that individuals are capable of determining the best solutions to their own problems, and that therapy is often a process of learning to listen to their own true self. Compassion and mindfulness are also key tools she brings to each session. Kristin works with clients wholistically, integrating an understanding of how emotions are felt and processed in the body (somatic experiencing), and also with a view to understand the often complex contexts that surround issues brought to therapy.
Kristin has experience working with:
Depression, anxiety, panic attacks, trauma history, bereavement/grief, relationship challenges, divorce, abusive relationships, life transitions, self esteem/self compassion challenges, OCD, suicidality and self harm, and addiction. Additionally, she has familiarity with issues of neurodiversity (autism, ADHD, etc) and executive function challenges.
